As you may have already figured out, there are many different models of air purifiers that you can purchase. Finding the perfect match for you can be quite a job. We are about to make that job a little harder for you. How? By giving you a complete strategy for cleaner indoor air. An air purification system is more than just a single air purifier (or maybe a couple.)
First, you need a good air purifier
- You need a good air purifier. If you suffer from serious allergies or asthma then you need an air purifier with a HEPA filter. We can't give you a perfect model simply because its going to very depending on you, the size of your home, and the pollutants in your air.
- You want an air purifier with reasonably priced replacement filters. You may pay a little more money in the beginning, but it will save you in the long run (hmm, quite similar to printers and ink.)
- You want a quiet air purifier. Some people are more sensative to sound than others. If a fan running all night doesn't bother you, then maybe this won't be such a high priority for you.
- Make sure that it can remove odors

Next consider adding an air filter to your furnace or air conditioning system. This is a big step. Depending on your needs you actually may not even need an air purifier. If you are particularly sensative to the air quality due to allergies or asthma then you most likely still need an air purifier.
Finally make sure you do your part to eliminate air pollution in your home. If necessary this means making sure your windows are sealed. Do your best to avoid tracking in pollen, dust, and other pollutants indoors. Don't wear shoes indoors. Use electrostatic rags to dust with. You should be able to get these somewhere that sells car products. I use a few of these to detail my car -- they pick up dust extraordinarily well.
This list is far from complete. Perhaps you are considering getting an ionic air purifier or an even bigger investment. If you have asthma problems your best bet is a HEPA air filter as the ozone the ionic air purifier gives off may cause you problems. The best system for you may not be the best system for someone else. I hope this page gives you a start in the right direction.
